Considering a 14 year Fleetwood Revolution diesel pusher

Up until now I have not seriously looked at Diesel pushers but have come across a 2004 Fleetwood Revolution 40B for sale.

It has 76,000 miles and they are asking 60000$. Its a 350hp Cummins on a Freighliner XC chassis with side radiator.

I have had a gas f53 for 2 years but don't know much about diesels.

I am doing research at present but would like aome advice.

If I do go further I would not be able to view it until next week.

Thanks,

Don’t drive it unless your ready to buy it.
350 Cummins is a great motor.
You will love air suspension, and the drivability of a dp.

Great advice,

I have never driven a DP. I will not even go look at it unless I get buy in from my wife.

I know this coach is pre DEF but not sure about EGR.

We have a 2004 40C and love it. We have had it since 2007. The Norcold fridge is (in my opinion) terrible. We replaced it with a residential and dedicated inverter. Otherwise, no big issues with the Revolution.

Thanks for posting Ron,
I must presume the Revolution has aire ride and grade brake.

I would not shy away from it. Pre-DEF and a DP, but condition is everything. It will cost more to maintain, but will also hold up better if properly maintained. Usually will ride better and go farther without refueling. I bought a 1998 Beaver Patriot after searching one out. Needed more work than I wanted, but had great "bones" and even if it looked factory fresh I knew I would still want to replace several things on any MH of that age unless they had been recently done. Things like air bags, shocks, tires. Mine was cheap enough for me to buy it and do the work myself, but I would have paid more for a better quality unit if I had been able to find one. If yours has what you want in good condition I think you will like it much more than your current one.

Thanks,

60k seems a bit steep. But as you say, it the asking price.

I agree, don't drive it unless you are ready to put in an offer. I love my 2002...air ride, exhaust brake, I would doubt very seriously if I would ever go back to a gasser. Good Luck!

everyone said "don't drive it unless..." we know that once you drive it you are gonna put the money on the table ;-).

i have never driven that particular coach, but i am driving a 18 years old, with same engine isc 350. no problem. the largest amount spent on it was replacing the cracked exhaust manifolds, $1k.

No. Test drive everything you can! It’s the best way to feel and compare the ride, handling, drive train, etc. What can the harm be?
