Converter found for 2014 Holiday Rambler Vac. SE 32WBD
I found this site just yesterday & joined. I hope this will help others. I have finally found my converter book. My RV batteries were not charging while on shore power. I just bought this RV, and it has not left my driveway since the previous owners delivered it to me back in Nov. The previous owners were not knowledgeable about technical matters, They took the RV to the Lazy Day folks located in Tampa, when anything went wrong. I am a retired gov/ military certified electrical engineering systems specialist with over 50 years of experience. The coach engine would crank, but the Generator did not. My house battery(s) were low. I charged them up & the generator cranked & now I had 14.2 VDC to the batteries. The converter book stated that when the shore power is on the DCV output was dependent on the battery load & sense the amount of battery volts. So I left it for a week or so. When I went to check the batteries were low again & the generator would not crank. This time when I got the batteries charged, I pulled the RV out of the carport. found a good level spot set the leveling jacks & let out both slide outs. I found the converter in the back bedroom, located close to the floor, and close to where the shore power cord is. I did not see a breaker tripped, so I turned all the breakers off & on. I re-checked voltages at the batteries & found 14.3 VDC now. Problem fixed. NEED TO KNOW: If the RV has a Transfer switch, it should be located close & between the shore power input &
the generator, correct. Well I can not find it. HELP!!!!
