Cool/Cold Weather Road Strategy - DP With Heat Pumps & Aqua Hot Question

I have 4 years experience in our 2011 Phaeton which had heat pumps or propane as heat sources. We also has an Aqua Go for hot water. We recently traded for a 2018 Allegro Bus with heat pumps and an Aqua Hot 450D.

While driving in cooler/cold weather in the new rig, it seems that it would be best to use the Aqua Hot for heat & hot water as the engine coolant will heat the Aqua Hot. We then just need to use the inverter for the fridge. The generator would just consume more diesel for no good reason. Obviously, if the AC needs to run, the generator is the only option.

My question for folks with the Aqua Hot units that end in 50 is - is my strategy above the best, most practical approach? I appreciate your input.

Yes. We have a 2014 Allegro Bus 37AP with the AH 450D. I switch the front thermostat to "gas" so the AH driven furnace beats the front radiators.
