Some coolant contains an acid that attacks silicone hoses and gaskets. I have the info someplace, trying to find it.
OK, here is the info, this is what it SHOULDN'T contain:
sodium 2-ethyl hexonate (19766-89-3)
If your coolant contains it AND you have silicone hoses this could be the source of your leaks. I didn't know about the problem til earlier this year and have been using coolant containing the acid with no problem. But I have new coolant and distilled water just waiting for me to finish a few other products and do it again to get rid of the acid.
According to Cummins silicone hoses/gaskets were NOT used in ISC's and ISL's shipped for motorhome use. But some well meaning person could have changed them at some time.
