Adding only water will dilute the coolant mixture and will raise the freeze point. Also, it is generally recommended that you change the coolant every 5 years. The rust and corrosion preventative will deplete over time.

So buy the PROPER coolant and top it off for now, but plan to get the cooling system drained, flushed and refilled soon.

If your not using it, then no need to do anything.
Just check it again right before you are using it and add correct type and ratio of coolant / distilled water and go on a trip.
Just keep checking on the cold level to see if you are loosing coolant. More commonly when in use. There shouldn't be too much change when checked at the same engine / ambient temp.

I'm not going to overthink this but if he is not going to use the moho until spring and may do a drain and refill then, then adding some distilled water to it before moving it will do no harm. Having more than 50% water actually cools better.
We don't really know his plans or location so....
