I had to have my side radiator replaced and the entire system flushed and refilled. I took it on 2 short trips and didn't have a problem but then headed east on a long trip and after ~1300 miles I was about 1/2 gallon low on coolant. The only difference was that I ran the heater when it got cold and I think this is where the additional coolant went. I filled my surge tank back up to my mark and have driven it ~500 miles with no change.
My radiator had the transmission cooler built into it. You should be able to tell if yours is the same by looking at the transmission hoses and see where they run. Mine ran to the side of the radiator toward the front of the coach, one connected at the top and one at the bottom.
Check to see if there is a small stopcock valve under the thermostat housing, it can be hard to see, this is where you can bleed the air off your system.
