I know this is a year old thread/post, but I just wanted to update on Cummins Ocala.
I may have worded it incorrectly when I went there and asked the cost for 2nd year service plus generator service, but the lady in the office quoted me $950.00. Things must be good for them.

Are you perhaps saying that the 2 fuel filters and chassis inspection were included in the $400 price?
Haven't seen a price for a Spartan chassis lube and just wondering how much I might be saving on that, which I do for myself, as well.

$950! Wow!

Yes, back two years ago it included two fuel filters (FF and FS), an oil filter and they installed my air filter. The tech greased everything he could get at; I watched, the MH was on a lift.

I wonder if the $950 is including transmission service, filters etc too. To double the price in a couple of years is preposterous.

For my MH Rotella semi-synthetic oil costs around $80 at Walmart and the Fleetguard fuel and oil filters cost around $60; I'll be crawling under there and doing it myself this time around. Note that my engine is a 27-year-old 6BT 5.9 so it doesn't take a lot of oil.

What in God's name am I missing? Maybe $20 for an oil filter and 17-19 qts of oil 15W-40 grade. Haven't checked into the generator yet....maybe 5qts of oil and a $10 filter?

What makes it so expensive? I have a shop that will take the oil so they can burn it in their heating system. Five minutes to pull the filter, 3 minutes to put oil in the new filter and screw it back on. Maybe 10 minutes to drain the pan. Another 10 to put oil in the engine.
TIP: Bought 10-qt/case - 5W30 synthetic Kirkland Brand Oil from Costco today for UNDER $25

Just a oil change should be less than $200 a full service close to the $950 just filters on mine run $400 then 34 quarts oil and AW 46 hydraulic oil.

I'm 60 years old and have had a right hip replaced, need left knee and left shoulder surgery, so my abilities to do self maintenance is limited...
I have a local mechanic that charges $65 per hour to do the maintenance and repairs on my bus...
He ran a NASCAR drag team shop for over 15 years and is very knowledgeable on bus and big truck engines including most all of the operating systems...
It is very easy for me to purchase the supplies and just let him do it for his labor costs...
