Cost of License and Registration in Calif

Anybody have an estimate of the costs for license and registration for 1995 Monaco Signature or Crown Royal. I callled Calif DMV and as usual they were no help at all. They had to have all the details on the vehicle i.e., currrent llicense #, VIN # and current registered owner. I haven't picked out a vehicle yet. I'm just trying too get a feel for the approximate cost for these items. Anybody have any help?

Figure sales tax according to whatever county you're in. Then add probably $200-350 for registration. It varies based on original value, position of the moon, etc.

Our 2013 registration, 2005 Dolphin was $313.00. Seems like the DL is around $25.00.

Sales tax will be somewhere between 8% and somewhere around 10% depending on the county and city where you live. Registration on the unit will be based on the selling price, whether new or used. So, buying a used unit the seller and buyer will agree on a price - that price will be written on the "pink slip" and the DMV will use that value to determine the registration fees due.

Some people will under-report the selling price in order to save some money on taxes and fees and it's almost impossible for the DMV to contest this. But, if there is a problem down the road and you take the previous owner to court for any reason the value as stated on the pink slip is the value the court will use - not the actual price you paid for the unit.

You could always use the DMV's Fee Estimator OnLine, it will also estimate the taxes due. https://www.dmv.ca.gov/FeeCalculatorWeb/usedVehicleForm.do

Figure around 10% tax on the purchase price (one time). License plates will cost 0.65% times the purchase price (per year)

DMV will depreciate your coach each year and you will then pay 0.65% of that amount. I don't know the formula that the DMV uses to depreciate your coach, but I do know that my fees go down each year and a part of that fee is tax deductible.
