Cost to deliver rv
A friend has approached me about driving his 34 ' dp from Tuscon to Nashville. He would fly me out and pay me. Just wondering if anyone has a feel for what one would charge for this. Assuming her would pay for fuel.
Thanks in advance

If I wasn't taking time off from my paying job, I wouldn't charge a friend to do it. He pays for all expenses; fuel, tolls, airfare. You have to eat anyways, so I wouldn't let him pay for meals. As far as the driving; hey... you're going on an RV adventure at someone else's expense. But that's just my view on this.
One other thought; if you charge him, then you are a professional driver for hire. Could get messy if there is an accident, or any sort of damage to his rig. I wouldn't accept money for doing it.

This is definitely something to keep in mind. If you go forward with it don't admit what you are doing if you encounter any police or weigh stations or anything like that. Once money is involved for delivery, etc. a whole different set of rules apply.

I think charging implies professional level responsibilities and liability.
Are you insured to drive his RV if an accident happens? Will it be on your insurance or his?
If it is a friend then why charge him if he is paying the expenses?

If you don’t have a commercial dL, I wouldn’t charge him. Friend or not. Not worth the risk or liability.

I have picked up a rv and a truck and trailer for friends with only charging expenses but I don't think its bad to charge a friend if he's willing to pay. He would have to pay someone to do it, why not a friend?
As far as liability, don't sign anything and don't mention it if something was to happen. Sorry I can't answer your question on how much to charge but don't feel bad taking something for doing it. He will still be getting a good deal I'm sure and have someone driving his baby that he knows and trusts.

Thanks all, for the input.
For the sake of simplicity in the post, I said a friend.
Actually, I do computer work for an insurance agent. One of his customers (who's father I knew years back) Leased his RV to a guy and the guy opted out. Now he needs to have his 08 American Eagle Coach brought back from Tuscon to TN.
Have kids in Tuscon to visit and thinking it might be an adventure.
Maybe the only time I'll get to drive such a nice coach. (A little over my budget)
My insurance guy says I'm covered by the owners insurance as long as I have his permission.
I appreciate the advice and will consider

Assuming you are doing this for a friend, though perhaps not a close one. I would ask for all actual expenses, even meals. Unless perhaps you eat in restaurants every day anyway, so that is a normal cost of living for you.
I have to agree with some others about the concern with potential liability of charging for a service. When I've done favors "above and beyond" in the past, I told the person they could send a thank you gift, e.g. an Amazon Gift Card, restaurant card, etc. It's a legal fiction that gives you a little maneuvering room if the worst happens.
Note that you have already accepted civil law responsibility for her property if you do this, even for free. The exception would be something that falls under the Good Samaritan law about helping in an emergency (accident, fire, etc).

Guess I'm different he would be paying someone else to drive it.
All expenses then a decent rate its your time your giving up and keep the fee between you and him
