Cost to Register in Michigan
I am not yet retired, but am hoping to purchase a MH when I do. I am thinking in the 40 foot range and trying to figure out certain costs. I know that different states have their own rates for registration and was wondering if anyone that lives in Michigan could give me an idea of the cost for a new 40 footer. Also, roughly the cost to insure a rig that costs about $200k.
Any help is appreciated.

You are welcome, as I said it has been a couple years but my rig cost me 382 to renew (It is 8 years old) the cost new was about 100K, I'll have to do some research though cause when I did the math it came out to 363 not 382 but then,, I'm sure there is a "Uninsured Motorist" fee I'm not including or some such.
Also.. Long ago and on occasions since I downloaded the Michigan Vehicle Code to my hard drive, makes it easier to find things I need to know.. Has resulted in a few good laughs as folks think they know the code better than my hard drive.. I think the last download was either 2005 or 2011. The last time I had a bit of difficulty trying to find it,, but I found it. I forget if I got to it via the State Police web page or the Senate web page.

Michigan resident for now but the S&B is for sale. Plates cost 600 every year and that's for a cheaper MH. I know some who pay over 2500. I'm thinking I'll have a new permanent residence. Any ideas.

Ohio MH $49.50 RV Trailer $24.50
PA. 8,000 lbs. or less $45.00 8,001 lbs. to 11,000 $63.00 11,001 or more $ 81.00
I don't understand why there is such a big difference between states.

Michigan will rape you on the annual plate fee that is based on the MSRP of your coach, no matter how old it is!!!!!!!!!!!
My 99 cost me over $700 for a plate and that much each and every stinking year, based on a MSRP of $155k. It's out and out robbery. If I could have lied about my model when I transferred at the DMV, I would have.
