I've owned both gas and diesel. Loved my gas coach except for the high fuel consumption and small fuel tank. Just got tired of looking for fuel every 325-350 miles. With what I have now, I'm not even thinking about fuel until I've gone 700 miles. Horsepower and torque are just a little plus that comes with the big fuel tank.

How about being able to use truck lanes for easy in/ out?

How about being able to glance out your side window, and knowing your lined up with the pump !!

How about being this damn comfy with no screaming 10 banger between ya? Oh, and 9.5mpg towing at 65 with one hand on the wheel in your own lane. Yes, we don't miss that.

if you could not stay in your lane there was an issue, granted i only get 5.5mpg but i got the 8.1 with and tow the loaded 8.5x20 enclosed trailer i also prefer 70mph.

the comfort of the photo looks good but were is the computer tray?for the torq number stock 455 at crank with the banks system getting 456 at rear wheels.

last year we did the rockies the black hills the smokies and the appalachian never had an issue with lack of power in fact we passed most othe rv's and semi trucks.

Hey if you want to start long-winded discussions how about this;

Tire Pressure

On-board compressor

Rough Handling

Okay - I'm betting at least one person will take that bait!

I'll agree with the OP on gassers not having a problem handling the steepest grades. They may just be a bit slower going up, but still enough juice at the wheels to pass semis.
Did the Black Hills and Devils Tower, WY elevations between 6-7000 ft. with my Georgetown V10 two years ago. The V10 hardly broke a sweat going up 9% grades towing with a dolly. Sure it was tacking about 4800 RPMs but it didn't break our eardrums. We loved that rig the seven years we had it. Why did we move to a DP? The Sportscoach we have now, 2014, had only 15000 miles on it and looked brand new. The deal was to good to pass up and we are happy with our decision.

Some of your posts border on absurdity. Driving 70 to 80 hauling a big trailer that's most likely over your rating. One of your posts was about going postal at someone during a gas stop, which by the way with your driving habits, you probably make a lot of gas stops. 😀
I really hope I don't cross paths with you. Sounds like you need to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Studies show that a typical Class A needs about 200 hp actually delivered to the drive wheels to maintain interstate highway cruising speeds (let's call that 60-65 mph). Basically to overcome wind resistance and tire friction. Climbing grades is extra.
Which studies?

CAT put out a paper that showed a 40K lb coach at 60mph needs 134hp, at 65mph it would need 162hp.

Computer tray?...don't own one.
But I do have about 20 SnapOn trays full of retired mechanic tools out in the garage tho.
Yea, our old gas class C was a bit "squirrelly" in the wind, or passing semis. Even with many many $uspension upgrade$.
To each their own, but I'll take comfort and cruise set to 63 over speed any day.

Torque 456?

Try 1200. With 400hp. In a 30,000lb coach.

Heck, the 3.0l diesel in our toad puts out 420 torque.

Hmmm, do all know that HP and torque are directly related? why all dynometer HP is calculated from the measured torque and hp- torque curves cross @ 5252 rpm

Yes, I'm bored, but on pc to fool the honey-do printer that I'm busy
