Cruise Control

Am on a 2000 mile trip, suddenly the cruise will not turn on. Cannot locate a fuse if it has one. Any help please.

Be sure your brake light switch isn't stuck. This nearly drove me crazy on my car a few years back 'til I realized my brake lights were on all the time.

Year, make and model might help along with chassis and engine information.

Failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

You can also check the fittings on the back side of the brake pedal. I lost cruise and it was a bad spade terminal.

Looking at his profile, it states a Itasca SunCrusier and is 34'. I am guessing it is a gasser. If so OP, two common areas of failure are the pressure switch on the master cylinder and the switch on the brake pedal.

More info on your rig would help. Year and model?

IMPORTANT - If this is a Ford chassis, take your VIN number to any Ford dealer and have them confirm if your Ford is part of the Cruise Control Recall, and more importantly, has it been complied with..

Almost every Ford built between 1994 and 2005 that have a factory Cruise Control are part of this recall.. The brake / Cruise Control switch on the master cylinder will develop an internal short and then start an electrical fire. This can happen at any time, even when the vehicle is sitting in storage..

Any Dealer should be able to complete this recall, as its a simple matter of installing a short Fuse Harness in the switchs electrical line. If the switch is shorting or shows signs of leaking, they will also replace the switch.

This happened to my next door neighbor a few years ago:

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

My wife has a fuse. It's short. Just saying.

My references were for an F53 Ford chassis so disregard.

I am sure others will be able to help. Might want to post in the Workhorse forum.

Make sure you have your jake brake off. Your cruise will not work with it on

It's a gasser, no Jake brake.

I'm still curious if the brake lights are on all the time.
