On a trip and just had fuel filters changed. Check engine light comes on when going up inclines only. Smoking more then usual and some loss of power. All gauges good and doing fine on flat road. Any ideas out there

Changed fuel filters again. Air filter is good. Same thing still happend. Pulled into a Speedco to read computer. 2 1/2hr wait. He said it sounded like an injector stuck open. Told me if that's the problem they couldn't fix it anyway. Directed me to a Freightliner shop 5 minutes down the road. So here we sit till Monday
A diesel has two "fuel pumps", one a lift pump to help move fuel from the tank to the filters and the other the high pressure injector pump. Do you know which they replaced?
