Cummins 400 - New Kind of Fan Issue

I've tried two different player apps in my iPad, and neither one will play the harveyfan.mp4
Anyone else able to play it? If you used an iPhone or iPad, what app did you use?

DOH! I was afraid of that. During my upload, it appeared as if the video was being encoded all over again. The video is (was) compressed for iPhone and iPad. I do this all the time for my clients. Here is a temp external link that definitely works with iPhone and iPad:

Thank you for letting me know

After some thought about your perceived problem, I think you might have the same problem as most others, i.e., your fan is in default to run full speed. It only makes sense that as the engine rpms rise, the hydraulic pump spins faster thus increasing the pressure to the fan motor making it speed up.
I have another thread going on this issue and I know mine is stuck at full speed. The fan air volume increases quite a bit from low idle to high idle.

I am always amazed by the amount of help here in these forums. Most, if not all, of the posts here have been very helpful.

I consulted with someone that has decades of experience with RVs and he suggested just about everything in this thread. Step one is to confirm the wires are securely fastened and connected - check (done). He then suggests that I take it to a cummins service center or similar for them to check the insite programming from the ECU. He said that this should only take an hour. I think I am going to bypass this step because it means my driving to storage, get out of storage, drive to service center, wait for someone to see me, spend an hour that might not tell me anything, then reverse everything. After all, the ECU is simply a computer module, right? Since I didn't change anything, the chances of one of the switches going from 0 to 1 (on to off), seems pretty remote.

My last check will be to share my video with Jim at Source to see if he concurs. I will post my findings as I get further along.

Thank you all for your great help and insight (no pun intended) so far.

You have a couple of temperature sensors that could cause that problem also..the suggestion to visit Cummins is a very good one. Go over to the file section and download the parameters for the 400..look it over..best thing I ever did for my coach..a reputable Cummins shop can do the programming if they have the software. Granted this may not fix the problem but could correct other issues that may need attention.. I was charged 1 hr
Labor. Good luck.

PS: if memory serves me well., there are three fan rpm settings that can be changed.

Okay, I think you are both right (hicksRA and mytime), I will take it in to have it looked at. I did call cummins here in Las Vegas and the service manager (very friendly), told me that they only do engine and generator. I thought that was strange, but I am sure it makes sense somehow. The guy was respectful and didn't try to rush me off the phone, so I was happy I called cummins first. He gave me the phone number to both freightliner and international here in Vegas. I am going to see if either place can get me in this week.
