Spoke with shop manager, they will not be ordering this device to read rpm on non-computer engines. $900 cost and they have had this dyno 3 years and mine is the first need for this device. So no go in Waco. Called Holt Catapillar in Dallas, their dyno broken. Had already talked to Southern Plains Cummins and was told their dyno only gave hp, no reading for torque. Then on another thread I was told if you had hp and rpm, you could calculate torque. Torque equals hp x 5252, divided by rpm.
Back in business. Talked again with Southern Plains Cummins in Dallas and was told they could get hp on this non-computer engine. So in a couple of weeks, after finishing some physical therapy on March 6th, I will schedule a trip to Dallas. DW retires this Friday, so we will make it a trip to get in some camping at Cedar Hill State Park and visit nephew in Rhome also. Wish me luck this time.
