Cummins engine service

I need to have my engine turbo looked at, as it is starting to squeal. My question is this... has anyone out there had their coach serviced in NC, SC at the Cummins service center in Spartenburg, Charlotte, or Greensboro? I'd like comments on any of these.

I have connected with an independant ,experienced Cummins technician near Siler City NC. Really knowledgable and honest. PM me if you would like his contact into.

I used to sell brake shoes/air compressors/clutches to some Cummins distributors in the Pacific Northwest.... honestly I found most of their tech's lacking in a lot of areas... even though I had several vehicles with their engines I used a really nice guy who was an independent shop...

I'd consider the above suggestion and call/try the independent guy listed above first...

Just my thoughts..

I remember a post from a while back that gave Cumminsin Spartanburg, SC very high marks.

I’ll put a good word in for Cummins NW in Olympia, WA should anyone be in the area and need certified Cummins service. I was not Cummins Power Club member when I had work done at their old shop in Chelalis, WA. The Service manager signed me up and saved me quite a bit of money.

Nothing you described needs any particular Cummins expertise anyway (a squeal?). Cummins just supplied an engine block - they didn't put on anything that is belt driven, or the fuel system or the cooling system. If anything, find a shop that has chassis specialists. If its a Freightliner chassis, FCCC factory service is just up the road from Spartenburg (Gaffney, SC).

Cummins supplies the fuel system and water pump. You get an engine that can run and circulate coolant.

Call Cummins and give them your engine serial number and they will tell you all the facilities nearby who are certified to work on that particular Cummins model. It is surprising the many different models...and how far you might have to go. I had to do this when my DP fan had a come-apart. Fortunately I was idling at the time so the damage was fairly minor. Cummins told me who to go to, and CoachNet saluted smartly and hauled me over 125 miles. The good thing is when you get there, the Freightliner dealer, or whomever will be certified and will do the job right...at least that has been my experience.
