Just installed the new one a few days ago and haven't gone anywhere yet. I saw that it had a new designation but didn't know why. This is on my ISX 650 and I just did am oil/ filter change in my driveway. 14 gallons of oil, bought a small wading pool to catch it all and O'Reilly takes 5 gal a day.

The new filter is supposed to have better cold flow rate during startup. It is listed on the Cummins site as an upgrade to the LF9009 for an ISL engine when I type in my engine data. All 2020 and up L9 engines come standard with the LF140009NN.
I plan to contact local Cummins Dealer to confirm for older units. The LF9009 is still available.
