Custom Instrument Panels for real?

I am looking to replace an old IP and found Custom Instrument Panels in Albemarle NC at Home Page . Has anyone experience with these folks? I checked with the local chamber of commerce but the company is not a member. iRV2 ran a piece on them in '98 but nothing recent, John

If you look at some of the drawings in their tech data section, they identify Custom Instrument Panels as being in Carson, CA.

I spoke with a fellow named Mac at CIP, he mentioned that they moved the business from CA to NC about 11 years ago. They offer the IP, new gages and sending units (except for the fuel tank sending units, those are not supplied). You replace the sending units with their new parts using the same wiring, add new contacts for the old wiring to mate with the new gage connectors. The speedo/odometer is now GPS based, no cable required. What can go wrong?

That GPS based speedo/odo won't work in a tunnel. May not be an issue to some, but would be a deal breaker for me. That's just laziness IMHO... Write the code for an actual counter/pulse interface or a CANbus reading routine, and I would buy it.
