Dash AC Mix Valve

2003 Beaver Patriot, dash air cycles between defrost and driver vents. Im thinking mix valve? Not sure where it is or if it could be another problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Could be a vacuum leak or a bad vacuum check valve.

Thankyou for the good advice, where exactly is the vacuum check valve and do you happen to have a part number/ supplier?

Its under the hood, under the HVAC housing and battery.. and a nightmare to reach..it can be bypassed pretty easily and a CV is only a few bucks at any parts store. .theres several write ups on it here ,, FORD charges 7 hrs labor to do it!! Its an easy fix..

There should be a Vacuum Generator and a Vacuum Reservoir Ball, probably mounted on the firewall above the generator. Look in your owners manual under chassis electrical systems.

Vacuum Generator:
The vacuum generator provides the necessary power to open and close the
vacuum switches. The vacuum generator creates and stores 15 inches of vacuum in a reservoir ball. Output from the reservoir is sent to the vent control knobs to open or close vents and switches. The vacuum generator uses the air from the front air storage tank through a ¼" red air line. The vacuum generator will operate whenever the ignition is ON, and the A/C is operating.
