Dash Alarm won't quit

I have a 2001 Monaco Diplomat that has a dash alarm that will not consistently be quiet. I know that it is tied into the parking brake and transmission to let me know if it is in gear when the parking brake is on but it will not stop buzzing even when the brake is off. Some days it will work properly and other days it does not. Any suggestions?

Probably a bad sensor on the parking brake circuit. On the monaco, they are usually attached to the bottom of the parking brake knob assembly.

Dash Alarm won't quit

We have the same problem on our Freightliner chassis. I called Freightliner and they said that the cables on the back of the gauges should be black, this was to correct the problem. In my case there are 2 bundles of wires on the back. I found that if I disconnect the large bundle the sound would stop. If I put the plug back on easily the buzzer was still there. If I pushed it on hard no more buzzer. Also none of my gauges worded when the buzzer was on. After pushing the big cable connector on hard I had no further problem.

On the FL chassis, they call that the "park brake chime" and on my '02 you have to locate the sending unit on the left side frame in front of the rear axle. They have a procedure for it. Mine needs to be replaced with the symptoms being that it starts chiming about 4 minutes after putting it into drive. I unplugged the speaker for it which was under the dash. Had the wife locate it while I held the service brakes in gear and unplug the dang thing. I will get around to replacing it before Spring to the tune of about 80 bucks for the part.
