I've had a Rexing V2 for years now and has performed flawless. I would buy from them directly if possible to avoid the china.

I’ll pay the price. Just tell me which is the best and that it will work.

I have gone through two already and neither one has worked. It would have been much less expensive to spend the money once on quality. Now I have to purchase my third one (in less than a year).

This is great information, thanks all.
Good morning

You may be able to submit an insurance claim using your collision part of the policy. Call your insurance company, they may also split it into collision and glass.

Be safe

While probably not a popular answer I have been using BlackVue for a few years now. Very happy with the quality of both the unit and the video.

Easy to install and a small profile. Their newest offers a 3 camera view. Front, rear, and interior. DR750X 3ch Plus

At 60fps the image is very clear.

Evening Dr. Mike, we did call the insurance co 1st thing. I'll check about being able to split it though, thanks for the suggestion.

Just go ahead and buy the Rove R2-4K. You won't be sorry!

We have two (again, glutton for punishment!)

1. A Garmin 45 dash cam. Works reasonably well, but I'd recommend the next model up (the 55) which has voice control.
2. I also use a GoPro too.

both have their advantages, I could get away with either one. But having the two does make sure I get stuff recorded nicely.

Do you know if any other sd cards work other than a samsung? I bought one that I thought matched the requirements and it didn't work.

I've always had good luck with SanDisk Ultra. Just be sure to get a size compatible with your system.

Why would I need a dash cam?

So if some jerk cuts you off and causes a wreck, you have evidence.
Anything that your camera shows in a bad situation could help your situation. And, I suppose if you did something wrong, it could tell on you as well. In that case I would say, I didn't have it on at that time.

Thanks for sharing this Sergio, I decided on the Rove R2-4K until I saw the video. I would've been disappointed for sure

Now I know what to look for:
--True 4k is 3840x2160, do not trust seeing 2160 (vertical resolution) advertised as 4k means true 4k 3840 horizontal resolution
--8 MP CMOS Sensor
--at least 30FPS

There is almost a 180 degree field of view so there's no shortage of visibility.
I also have a Rexing 4K camera. works great and has a good field of view. I would highly recommend. I used a hardwire cord to wire it in to the ignition side of the 12 volt supply so no intervention is required. I have it mounted at the top of windshield, out of my field of view, it's actually above the highest level the front shade goes up.
