Dash warning light

I have a 2003 monaco camalot. would not start this morning for my trip used battery boost and started. Dash warning light came on. Installed 2 new batteries and RV started no warning light. Wondering if thats a connection?

You didn't specify which warning light, but it was probably a low voltage warning for the batteries.

Agree it could have thrown any number of erroneous codes having very vlow voltage.

Usually left of the column under the dash. Assuming yours is Diesel, It is round.

There should be a diagnostic port on the left side of the steering column under the dash.

You will need to get the correct connector and code reader. There are several options out there, if you don't have one I'd get something that also monitors engine/transmission parameters as you drive. These are the ones that are mentioned the most. Scanguage, Bluefire, Silverleaf.



I have a Silverleaf, which has been around a while and may or may not be the best option. I plugs into the diagnostic port and then you need a laptop or tablet to display the results. You can create your own display showing what you want. I monitor most of the important parameters. It will display any fault codes the engine would throw.

Bluefire is a newer offering that I've heard good things about, you can display your info on a phone via bluetooth.
