Day and Night shades ?

I was just wondering how many of you out there traveling with the shades up or down? The plastic tension pieces that the string runs thru seem to break quite often.

Always down. If you are referring to what I call the tension 'bobbins' I found they do become brittle after a time so I recently replaced all of mine.

Ours are always up.
So far no issues with either the 2001 Windsor or our 2007 Alpine.

If I can see out of its window from the driver's seat, its up for better visibility. Although the galley window that I can't see out of, has mini-blinds which are up to eliminate clatter. Blinds in the rear, usually down when traveling.

All closed except the one forward most on curb side which I use to see oncoming traffic when turning...

Up every day. I like lots of light.
Happy Glamping.

They're nothing special to RVs. You can probably get them from a RV parts department (that's where I got mine) or somewhere that sells window coverings.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

When driving in hot weather the shades are down, otherwise up! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

We have dual MCD day & night shades throughout (no mini-blinds, got rid of those two, in the galley & 1/2 bath...yuk) and lately we've changed to driving with shades up. If left down while driving, they tend to rattle some by bouncing back & forth at the bottom between the coach sidewall & the window valance. Just a little annoying so we now raise them up. DH also likes a lot of light anyway.

Same here. I want to see out of a window if possible

You go to any store that sells sewing machines. Forget the plastic ones, go for the metal
