Hi, I recently moved to Colorado from California so had to winterize my 2009 Winnebago Journey, 34 for the first time. I had it done at camping World and they used the RV anti-freeze method. In early January i plan on heading out south - east to Florida, but since it will still be below freezing in Colorado, I was wondering what other RVers have done to de-winterize. I figured first camping spot below freezing and do it at a campground? Any suggestions would be appreciated, as well as tips for the de-winterize process.

I just carried a water jug to flush and bottled drinking water - and be careful of that first campground south of the freeze line. IF they have their water turned on - it could be some really nasty tasting water. Make sure you give it a good taste test prior to loading up with it.

We are in Michigan and my first stop south is a park with running water all year. I fill up there. As long as you keep the furnace on it keeps the water bays warm and there is really no problem. We have survived 10 degree weather on occasion with no water issues.

Did Camping World provide a recommendation on how to drain/flush?? You may ask them. If not at the first warm spot I would drain all the antifreeze out of the system, catching it in jugs. Make sure to drain the hot water heater. Then fill your fresh water tank and flush the lines until no evidence of the antifreeze.

My wife will not let me use antifreeze in the coach so I used compressed air to winterize. Takes a little longer to winterize but when the time comes to put the rig back into service you just fill the water tank and your done. No need to flush the lines.
