Dead battery while in storage

We have a Newmar Baystar -- one year old. There is a shut off for the chasis while in storage but not for the engine. Continual problem now and getting worse of whenever we leave it in storage, we come back to a dead battery. Battery boost does not worse and we need to use the generator to get it going. Thought we had it corrected by a fault found with the radio but we now left it in storage for 4 weeks and came back to a dead battery. Left it running for about 10 mins this morning after starting it with the generator and now 2 hours later it is dead again. Any ideas? Also after we get it started with the generator, our stabilizer bars are all flashing and we have to make ground contact with them to resync the system.

Quick note to add to the above question -- we have had the battery tested and it is charging and not the problem.

There are many 'parasitic' loads on modern vehicles, letting one sit for long periods with no recharging is a sure way to a dead battery. You can put a shut off on chassis batteries, or install solar charger on the roof of sufficient size to counteract electrical loss. By the way, a battery will loose a percentage of its charge in storage, even not hooked up.

Just unhook the ground cables whenever you store it. Takes less then a couple minutes. It's not doing your house batteries any good to be repeatedly discharged either...and there are parasitic loads on them too, even with the switch off.

You can also add a knife blade switch at the battery. That will cure the problem.
