Decal replacement
Has anyone had decals replaced on a Class A in Arizona. I have a 2004 Winebego Adventurer, the paint is great but decals are faded. Thinking about replacing or painting.

Many have replaced decals but long term benefits favor painting new strips. However painting can be costly and seeking prices on doing it is advisable. New decals are costly as well as painting. Get prices on both and decide what works best for you. If painted is the best option for you get several quotes and go from there. Good luck.

There is an easy way to remove old decals, I have a vinyl graphics business, & I'm in the process of replacing all the graphics on my 94 Bounder. If you locate a vinyl graphics business near you, there is a machine (looks like a side grinder) called an eraser that is made to take off vinyl. there are replacement wheels that basically erase the decals from the surface. The professional tool is expensive and the wheels are $50 wholesale. There are cheaper versions online that will connect to a drill if you are looking to DIY.

You might try this place RV Stripes & Graphics Have not used them, but they appear to do good work.

Your welcome Gary. I have exchanged emails with Steve Zacher at RV Strips about replacing the graphics on our Dolphin. Steve emailed pictures of one they have done. The graphic are slightly different then the original on ours. Not sure what we will do, may drive to AZ. this winter and see if they can duplicate the original graphics.

I'm in the process of doing my graphics myself. Using a 3M eraser wheel and a heat gun. Buying some 15" x 30' rolls on vinyl from Metro Decals | Products > Colored Vinyl Sheets > Colored Vinyl Sheets
then I'm going to cut the design out by hand.

I’m finally about finished with my new graphics on my 1998 GeorgieBoy.
Used a 3M eraser wheel on my hand drill to remove the old faded and cracked decals. Most of the decals came off with the use of the eracer wheel, but the cracked onces didn’t came off that easy. Tried a heat gun but that didn’t work. Ended up using mineral sprites on them. After I removed all the old decals I scrubbed the entire RV with a green scrubby and some Bar Keepers cleanser (just like I was wet sanding it).
The old decal left makes on the RV so I just used those old likes as a pattern for my new graphics.
For the stripes I bought some 2”, 1”, and 3/4” boat stripping tape. For the rest of the graphics I bought some 12” x 50’ rolls of outdoor vinyl like they use at signs shops. Bought it on line at: 12"x10 Yard Roll Outdoor Adhesive Craft Vinyl
Cut the rolls down to length I wanted and stuck them on the RV. Then used 1” blue tape to fallow the old graphics lines that were still on my RV. Then I used an exacto knife and cut a long the blue tapes lines. Once all the graphics were all on I compounded and waxed the entire RV with Maquires wax and cleaner.
Ended up costing me a little over $300 total.
Came out pretty good. Not prefect, but much better then paying someone 5k to do it.
