Deionizing systems, modifications and information
It seems to be that quite frequently, someone will post a question regarding Deionizing systems. Since there are many posts scattered throughout the forums, I was hoping to get a lot of information in one place. So if you have anything you would like to contribute or links, please feel free to post. Thanks.

I currently have the CR Spotless system and I'm looking to convert to a Cartridge free system that uses a distributor tube directly placed into the resin to extend the life of the resin. These modifications are shown on DI rinse and RV transformers sites. Has anyone tried them and what are your thoughts on them?
As far as options to replace your resin. The best prices I have see so far are Ebay, 123waterfilter, 5 pounds for $36; Bulk reef supply 7.5 pounds for $60; and windows101 1 cubic foot (49 pounds0 for $160.
Resin use depends on TDS of the water you feed into the system, here is how much you can approximately expect to get:
-Input TDS and Expected Yield (# of Gallons)
50 ppm yields 1600 gallons
100 ppm yields 800 gallons
200 ppm yields 400 gallons
400 ppm yields 200 gallons

Actually,
Dionized water discussions have been on every forum. Here's one of the most recent ones.

Many of us have been using the most commercially popular one from Costco. You'll find plenty of info on that thread. Suffice to say, without a doubt, using a DI system is absolutely great in the fact that you can wash your coach, and WALK AWAY, from it dripping wet, without a single water spot.

Thanks for the feedback. I read multiple posts on the systems and there a quite a bit of input provided from various people. I was just hoping to get a centralized location of the information and build upon it. I have already bought the CR Spotless system and the results have been great. I am now starting to look at different options for when it comes time to change out the resin.

We had the CR Spotless for while but seemed not to last but a few washes. We went and bought a brand new electric leaf blower and use it to blow off the excess water, not a perfect solution but works for us.

It all depends on how hard you water is and your native TDS. So far I have gotten 3 car washes and 1 MH wash in and it's still reading zero. However, I'm only using it for my final rinse and I have been pleased with the results. Going forward, I plan to use the CR Spotless with my pressure washer to decrease my water output and therefore prolong the life of my resin.
