Diesel prices update

Hello all. I posted a thread back on 12/5/22 regarding a new Quick Trip convenience store / truck stop which opened up here in West Monroe, LA. They started diesel prices (if I remember correctly) in the $3.75 / $3.80 / gallon range, when the nearby Pilot and other diesel suppliers were pricing it at almost $5.00 / gallon. Within a few weeks of opening, the Pilot and nearby suppliers, including Walmart, lowered their prices to pretty much mirror QT's prices. Now, I know prices have fluctuated a bit since December, mostly risen to the $4.20 / gallon range, but somebody replied to my original post by saying "check back in February."

Well, it's February 7th and am glad to see that QT is still at $3.85 / gallon and all nearby suppliers are within a few pennies. And, it seems for now they keep dropping a penny or two each day.

Safe travels all!!

Just goes to show that while most service stations claim to only make cents on a gallon of fuel, it is more likely over a $1 per gallon even after the state takes their share.

Who would have ever thought that $3.49.9 was a deal? LoL. I was happy to see it drop to $4.69.9 here this week. In Idaho I bought diesel for $1.98.9 back the summer of 2020 and now twice that price seems like a deal. Guess I'm getting conditioned!!

Getting conditioned is right.
Here in central Colorado GAS is knocking on the four dollar door.
Diesel is now north of five dollars with no end in sight.

I thought budgeting $3.50 for gas for our yearly Florida trip in April would be safe. Now I don't know about that. Guess I'll just have to spend a little more of the kid's inheritance.

Hovering right about $5 a gallon for diesel in Western Washington.
Regular Gas is about $1 cheaper. The state legislature’s new 2023 carbon offset tax is being slowly implemented. Experts predict .25c more by fall.

Last fill up was at Busy Bee Truck Stop in Tallahassee, Feb 1st. It’s a TSD station. Paid $4.09/gal.
It’s a really nice truck stop.
