It looks like I am the winner so far coming in at just over $700 for just the oil, fuel filters and air filters.

I do all of my own oil/filter, fuel filter and lube. I inspect the air filter once a year and change it if needed. I also inspect the air ducting from the filter to the engine. While it can be a pain, I am retired and my labor is 'cheap'! About the only item that I do not do is flushing the cooling system. I do not want to take a chance that our labs might get into some that I might spill and getting the old coolant properly taken care of.

I am very fortunate to have my own discount Cummins mechanic. He bills me $30 an hour for whatever I command.

To date, I have paid him $480 with a $25 tip on top for:

Oil change with filter
Oil pan gasket change
Turbo exhaust side pipe flange cut and replace
Fuel filter and water separator filter
Air filter canister that required all new clamps
Coolant flush/clean/fill
Air dryer replacement with reman unit
Air governor
Replace tail pipe that fell off while I was backing up and ran over..Doh!

I bought all the parts.

Sadly, I don't see the win...

I found a small Mom and Pop diesel shop. I furnish the oil and filter, they do the oil change (and dispose of it), filter change and lube it for $65. Oil comes from Sam's.

I used Speedco with my previous DP and they were very reasonable. I believe they use their medium truck pricing for most DP's.

Recently I had just an engine oil and filter change on my Cummins ISL at my local Cummins Coach Care center. $126.00.

Engine/transmission combos of ISL/3000 and smaller are the medium truck pricing.

oil change

Should a rv dealer do a oil change when you purchase a used dp with 6500 miles that has never been changed since 2012
