I hope to break the trans cooler lines now that I have more access. New serpentine belt and some cleaning and painting. The radiator will be back late this week or early next. I am planning on installing an injection system for spraying water inside the shroud when the temperature starts to climb in the mountains. We hope to leave Texas for the east coast and then up to Quebec next spring taking our time. Then it's across Canada and them up to Alaska and back down the Pacific coast to San Diego. A couple three months and lots of mountains, so an ounce or two of water, prevention you might say.

While you've got easy access and are doing the belt, I'd check the tensioner if it has one and all of the pulleys for slop/bad bearing feel.

When I was in the racing business we used to install these on our asphalt cars. Might work on the slobber tubes on the diesels.

Yes, familiar with something similar used on light aircraft too. For our purposes here though, it's pretty hard to beat a slobber tube setup for it's simplicity and effectiveness (KISS!).
