Those of you claiming you can always find fuel cheaper than TSD aren't looking at TA or Petro. Currently TA/Petro with the TSD card is cheaper than Costco by $0.40/gal in Oregon.

On a long trip, I can almost always find a TA or Petro 400-600 miles from the last one. And when I can't, that extra $0.50+ per gallon is pretty noticeable.

Search for diesel fuel nozzle adapter on Amazon. Allows large nozzle to work with smaller tank necks. If you're willing to deal with the extra cleanup everytime you fuel up it might work for you.

TA is where I filled up on my last trip (3 fuel stops). Am leaving for a 900 mile trip on Sunday and my stops are all TA's, there and back (the TSD App is really good, I like the map feature). I am so glad I got this card, it saves us money!!

I have never seen TSD work outside of the truck lanes.

I'm confused about how much you save with the discount cards. The current posted price at pilot/flying J and loves is $3.00 to $3.30. Current price at Speedway,Shell and BP is $2.69 to $2.79. My question is how much discount off of the posted price can I get with the discount card at the truck stops? We just finished a 1000 mile trip from Florida and those are the prices we saw.

I agree with RV Driver. I fuel 90% of the time at Pilot FJ and save my insignificant 8 cents
a gallon. While everybody is driving out of their way to save more I don't have to worry about other RV's taking up the truck lanes. If I cant afford to buy fuel then I'll stay home.

Get a card from Pilot and you get a discount at the pumps. Look for rv lanes at pilots. Pilot will send a book with all the info.

With TSD there is no set discount and it changes from day to day depending a wide variety of things. At some vendors the agreement is for $0.10/gallon and other as much as $1, however typically in the $0.50 range. There is an app that tells you current pricing.

Other discount cards have their own promotions.

Also while $0.50-$1 off sounds awesome, that does not make it the best price. In my example before, at a well known, local vendor with commercial lanes the price was over $0.30 cheaper than any in TSD network station in the area. However I did still use the TSD card since it allows me to use the commercial pumps without going in, I can use the dual high speed nozzles and it will keep a report for me. There was a $1 service fee but when filling over 100 gallons, I have 275 total, this is worth it to me.

Like most other things in life you have to decide what kind of things are most important to you;
Time
Price
Convenience
Safety, known commercial pumps have lots of room

With my pick up (36 gal OEM and 50 gal AUX), even with 40' long 13.5' high trailer I will typically go where fuel is cheeper when traveling for fun. If I am traveling for work (getting paid) will typically pull into commercial lanes for convenience. With the new truck having dual tanks and a total of 275 gallons I find it unlikely that I will fill at "Safeway" unless the deal is amazing, because it will take forever to fill.

That is not a true statement. When I fuel about a week ago the closest TA was $2.76. The place where I normally fuel along my route was $2.70.

The place I did fuel, which is about 20 mile round trip out of the way and not worth it for 30-40 gallons was $2.42. On 150 gallons of fuel it was worth the detour.

Neither of those places I fill show up on the TSD app because they are not in network but they both have commercial lane along major routes.

Funny, very true for us.....except in reverse. Since we stick to more rural areas of the country, finding a Flying J or other large truck fueling complex would be "out of the way" for us! We stick to smaller stations along the route and avoid major highways.

As my Daddy always said "to each his own".

There’s no reason to be uncomfortable with that request. In fact, it is the key to getting these discounts. When you use the TSD card to purchase fuel, TSD debits your account to pay for that fuel almost immediately. In other words, they get paid right away, and that’s one reason why they can offer their steep discounts.

The TSD card is not a credit card. You don’t get a monthly bill to pay. You get a monthly statement showing what you have already paid. I’ve had this card for a couple of years now. I find it very convenient to use and have never had a problem with it.

I prefer the truck lanes in the TSD sites anyway. Gasbuddy can send me to some really tight spaces i'd rather not deal with. Worth a few cents more to me but after the discount it's rarely more than what gasbuddy can find.

Is TSD an acronym? What does it stand for?

68 thread posts and I STILL don't know what 'TSD' stands for! Truck Stop Diesel???

Can someone please enlighten me? I'd love to get a .30-.40 cents a gallon savings when filling my diesel tanks. Where do I sign-up?

Thanks!
