Here's another data point
Wildwood, FL I75
T/A pump price $3.49
Discount (net) $0.839
Act fuel cost $2.62
Best diesel I could find in the area using gas buddy was same $2.62 at Sams Club membership reqd and not as convenient for access but I have done it in some cases. T/A closer to hwy and EZ PZ access plus no wait time.

If you need to fuel at a location where the TSD discount is not that great you might do better using a 'regular' discount card in combination with a credit card which gives points/cash back.
The TSD program is a fuel program designed for commercial trucking. These companies constantly renegotiate their fuel prices with the various fuel vendors and price discounts change regularly. When I drove semi for a company out of northern Wisconsin they told us where to fuel - we didn't choose on our own. Not just the particular brand, but also the specific truck stop. The large companies will save a lot of money doing this, and TSD opened their fuel program to motor home owners to benefit us and them. With a larger average monthly fuel purchase they are able to negotiate better rates for their drivers as well as for us, and we get to benefit as well.

Sure— then you have to go inside, wait in line with the truckers and roughnecks buying sandwiches and snacks, get them to turn on the pump, return to the truck then go back inside to do all that again to get the card back.
Or I could pay at the pump in the auto lanes waiting three trucks deep for all those guys to go inside and take their sweet time without moving their vehicles while they do so.
It’s worth every penny of $1 to not have to do all that when I’m working. When I’m on vacation I’m a bit more selective on price but I have the time to be.

OK, the newbie is back with another question.
We are picking up our 2021 Renegade 38RB on April 1st. I will be towing a 16' Enclosed Toad carrying my wife's 2021 Mini Cooper.
Presently the Mini Cooper is insured through Allstate Ins.
What is the best RV Insurance Company to cover the RV and Trailer. Am I better to switch insurance for the Mini Cooper to the RV Coverage so everything is inclusive?

I never pass the Wolf Den without fueling. As a bonus it’s on the way from Yakima to Bend where we bought our first Cornerstone. Do you happen to know where the commercial card reader is located? The fact the Wolf Den is located on the “res” accounts for the low prices.

I used the TSD card most of last winter and at truck stops I use the truck lanes. I always have. My 36’ trailer doesn’t maneuver easily in the car lanes. So I don’t miss that a bit. It might fit but most places don’t have the turning room I need. Or think i need anyway!

That's not always the case. Many times slow pumping is caused by someone draining the hose after the pump is cut off. (trying to get every drop out) This action causes a drop in pressure in the line with tricks the leak prevention valve into tripping and forcing the system into slow pumping mode. Only way to reset the valve is for EVERYONE to close their nozzle and wait approx 15 seconds, which allows pressure to build and re-set leak detector and put system back to normal. IT with then go back to pumping like it should. It's a pain in the lower regions, but when prices go up, it happens more frequently.

I'm in agreement with you - I'd much prefer to plan ahead and fill up at the truck stops with the best discounts and use the TSD card so that I can pay at the pump. Sometimes I can even start the pump from my smartphone. Not that hard to plan ahead either, especially with a diesel pusher that has a range long enough to be very picky about where I fuel up.
No need to knock the truck drivers though - I recently worked as a driver and to be honest the people I worked with are some of the very same people I park next to at the camp grounds. I've met lots of truck drivers at campgrounds, along with bus drivers and others working in similar fields.

There are several ways to see discounts for TSD. You can go to their website and put in password, which they will give you once you get the card, and it is a daily or mostly daily list by state of the truck stops and current posted price & discounted price. They also have an app, TSD Open Roads, it will show closet fuel option when you open or you can search or you can put in a route and it will show prices along the route, the third is the EFS app (which is the actual card you get when you sign up with TSD). It too will allow you to input a route however it shows all the fuel stops where it is valid, not just the TSD. It is where you can see you charges after you fuel, as well.
We are plotting are next fill when we leave on Monday. The TA in Marianna Fl has the list price of $3.27/gal, the TSD price, today, is $2.52 for a savings of $.75/gal. We will be taking about 75 gallons for a savings of $56. This is before the $5.60 cut they take and a $.65 transaction fee. So we will save $50 on that fill. We are 40ft and towing, so easy in, easy out (we use Google Earth to look at it) and we pay at pump.

No need to go inside or leave a TSD card. I dont know where that came from. Doesn't sound like you have ever used one but making up negatives.
I do go in after pumping to get a receipt but I understand thats not even necessary. Some just take a photo of the pump for a record and leave. I get an email a day or two after with all the details...
Pump price, discount, fees and net amount deducted from my acct.
Nobody is forcing anyone to use it if you'd rather not but don't spread false negatives to discourage others if you don't know how it works.

Just wanted to add that I've been to a few truck stops that do not have card readers at the pumps and you have to go inside to pay. The closest truck stop to where I keep my rig, a Phillips 66, only accepts consumer credit/debit cards at the truck lanes and EFS/company card holders have to go inside to pay! Bass ackwards, but they do exist.

Might as well use your credit card on those pumps for the cash back - you'll not likely get much discount on TSD at a Phillips 66 unless something new has been added.

Exactly...
TSD is a discount program at selected truck stops not meant to be a universal credit card for fuel. Discounts vary but its fairly easy to find the best price available in any area. Compare to GasBuddy or other apps to see if you can do better without jumping through hoops.
Some folks don't like truck stops and willing to pay extra to not use them... nothing right or wrong here just trying to fill others in how it works.

That is exactly what I do there. My point is that sometimes there is a need to go inside, even at stations within TSD's discount network.
