Do you check the NHTSA site for vehicle "Manufacturer Communications" and other info?

Vehicle manufacturers are required to send the NHTSA copies of their TSBs. You may learn of defects that are not a recall here.

The search criteria is YEAR MANUFACTURER MODEL and it is picky. For example, it treats Ford F-53 and F53 chassis as different vehicles and they may have different info. Pick the correct one from the list that shows up.

Click the + sign and look at Associated Documents. Those are the PDFs.

For the 2020 Ford F-53: https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2020/F...Communications

For the 2020 Ford F53 (no dash), it lists three COMPLAINTS that are not on the F-53 page, probably because the owners omitted the dash when they submitted the reports: https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2020/FORD/F53#complaints

You also may find info from your motorhome manufacturer:

For actual recalls on my Forest River Georgetown: https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2020/F...GETOWN#recalls

Another example, the 2021Newmar Dutch Star lists five recalls: https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2021/N...20STAR#recalls

Scroll up a bit and you can find links for:

COMPLAINTS
RECALLS
INVESTIGATIONS
MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATIONS

I keep bookmarks for all of our vehicles and check them periodically.

HTH,

Ray
