Does anyone recognize these components?
Hello, new member to this site. I have read many posts and have helped me a lot over the years with questions and understanding of RVing. I have 3 "boxes" for better words in a motor home i just purchased this year. I'm not sure how to attached pictures. There are 2 boxes with the oval hole with a cloth like screen one above the bed on the wall and the other by the thermostat in the kitchen that has a red light above the hole. These 2 are not hardwired to anything and have a 9 volt battery. The other is a single box that is hardwired with 2 low voltage wires in the back and also is powered with a 9 volt battery also on the wall in the bedroom. The single box has a "button" that you can push and the red light comes on momentary like a garage door opener. The single box has a sticker (photo attached) that references Capricorn Electronics. I'm not sure if these are aftermarket items or installed at the factory. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

hmmm, interesting description. I'm going to guess it's aftermarket but maybe somebody else that has that same or close to same coach can verify.
I do know from their website that Capricorn Electronics specialize in these types of components:
"Capricorn Electronics specializes in low voltage electronic equipment and systems including Hotel & Home Automation, Room Management, IP Security and Access Control, Fiber Optic Solutions, Digital Satellite, CCTV, Connected Home Solutions, Video & Audio Intercoms, Time and Attendance, Public Address, Back Ground Music Systems, Gate / Parking Barriers, Conference Systems plus many other associated products. The company offers a full service to its customers, from assistance with design and specifications to supply, installation and commissioning of systems."
Maybe something to do with audio or video system?
Yeah, some photos would be nice. PM me and perhaps I can give you a hand with it should nobody else respond quickly with the correct answer.
Glad to see that you've finally joined and are now posting to the forum.

Hi Alan! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
We're gonna need pics! Click on the paperclip symbol above, click "Browse" to find the pic on your computer, click to highlight the pic, click "Open" , in the other box click "Upload", wait for it to finish uploading, click the paperclip again, then click on the image shown. That will put it in your message box.
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
Sorry, I accidentally attached a pic trying to get the sequence right!

I think I'd do a Google on the name on the label or even call the number listed, but it looks like an aftermarket alarm system. Since it's wireless it could have been tied into the PO's home system.

I have no idea what those are! Can you find any part numbers on them anywhere? You may have to remove them from the wall to see any numbers.

Certainly looks like an old alarm system. Here is a link to Capricorn....an alarm company.

They look like receivers for a remote control for either powered awnings or a RF satellite tv.

Previous owner contact?
Is there any chance you can trace the ownership back to the previous owner(s) and ask what the function of these boxes is? In my particular case I have a large file which came with my MH which has all the invoices for any repairs, parts, accessories, tires and even the original sales contract for the original owner and the two subsequent owners before I bought it. These have names, addresses and phone numbers on them.
I have no way to contact the original purchaser as he is deceased. It was only in his possession three months before he had a medical issue and passed away unexpectedly.

I purchased this as a repo unit, there was not any paperwork that came with it.
