Does anyone use a Rhino Blaster?
Does anyone use a Rhino Blaster? If so, how do find it works and how often do you use it?

I guess, if my black tank was not flowing for some reason I might use something like this to dislodge the blockage, but I can't see any other time I would use it. I have to wonder, doesn't your Winnebago Tour coach have a black tank flush system? If so, I would think that would be far superior to the Rhino Blaster.

Allan-
I have not used the Rhino Blaster.
We have used the Valterra Flush King on both our coaches. I have found it more effective than the black rinse fitting for rinsing the tank.
I tried the Camco equivalent to the Flush King and found it deficient in flow rate. I have since modified one and installed it semi-permanently in our current coach. Its flow rate is slightly less than the Flush King, but it fits better.

Allen, I bought one and a 90 degree elbow and when I mated them to my Valterra gate valve and other fittings they leaked badly. I tried a second gasket and ended up breaking tabs off the gate valve. Just be sure to keep the receipts. As far as using to black flush, I had a clog and used a back flush with a water hose attachment and didn't really get anywhere. For that to work would have to be more of a seriously tight clog that almost totally restricts flow and pops loose. Something high volume and lower pressure would probably do better.

I feel like I've watched several videos of these type flush system and the real benefit is minimum. What I have on my radar, just as a preventative measure, is to get a fitting like the rhino blaster and then use a water pressure system with a jetter nozzle to do a deep clean once a year. My system seems to flush fine but I consider it an annual maintenance item like cleaning the AC units on the roof.

Hopefully your tanks don't need a thorough blasting very often. Maybe one of those wands down the toilet every so often would be good. No need to fit something on the tank. I also have used the Flush King for many years....works pretty well.

This thread got me interested, did some research, and found this site: https://www.thefitrv.com/rv-tips/tes...rv-black-tank/
If you visit there, you will find that much, if any, effectiveness of the outlet flush system, depends on the distance of the outlet to the black tank and, most important, any bends in the drain pipe. A single 45* bend in the drain renders the effectiveness to practically zero.
My takeaway was, a Rhino Blaster or similar device's effectiveness will depend on your particular set up, so do some investigation of your plumbing before you decide to use such a device.

LOL I got sucked into a black hole of youtube watching yesterday and saw the same video. The built-into-tank solutions were the winners if there were any bends in the waste tube from the tank.

The built-in flusher on our Windsor keeps the black tank in good shape. I do have a Jetter nozzle & hose for the pressure washer that I bought for cleaning a clogged sink drain at home but I don't expect to ever need it.

Joe, hope you and the wife are doing well. I'm curious to know your thoughts on using a jetter nozzle and power washer on a pipe inside the house, or in my case, the coach (we are full timers). I spent an hour today on one of the sinks in the back bathroom that wouldn't drain well and your post got me thinking.
The question I would have is if I understand how the jetter nozzle works, won't it cause the water to come back toward the sink and if you got close to the p trap, wouldn't it send the water back into the coach? I am not doubting you, doubting myself and understanding how it works.
Any help appreciated.

i have one and use it when i want to drain or flush my tanks. heres why.
when i drain my tanks the clear section allows me to see what is coming out.
when i flush my tanks, the rhino blaster allows me to add water to my tanks from the gate valves. I will occasionally fill and drain my tanks 2 to 4 times. when i do that i will hook up my rhino blaster to my gate valves. then will hook up my hose and drain the black tank, then shut the gate on the rhino blaster and turn the water on and refill the black tank and flush it, and could do this up to 4 times. then repeat the process for the grey tank. I know the rhino blaster is not blast cleaning my tank. its basically just a method for me to fill the tanks as i dont have another way of doing this without taping the toilet flush handles open or shoving a hose down the toilet.
don't expect it to break up a poop pyramid, but it will allow you to fill the tanks from the gate valves location and see what you are getting out.

I use the Camco Version of the Blaster Pro, my built in back flush valve is clogged or something, no longer flows worth a darn. The Camco does a good job of filling and flushing both tanks and the hose, cleans out a lot of junk. It doesn't help the black tank senors which always show full, but then they have not worked since the coach was a week old.
Some folks attach the anti-siphon to the tank end of the water hose as opposed to the water supply faucet, it gives a bit more jet action into the tank maybe. I may have to try that myself.
