Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

If you will be spending much time in it then I would go for the 38'.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Will you travel with kids? If so, then 90 feet isn't big enough...

All very good advice from our resident veterans and experts.

I would add, why would you pass on an extra 5 feet at a bargain price. Your first rv will probably be traded if you like the RV lifestyle or sold if you dont. Either way you will not be in an undesirable financial position.

Generally you get more appointments for the extra footage like WD, 1/2 bath extra pantry space, larger shower or at the very least more storage space.

Good luck and keep us posted

LOL.
That sounds like the advice I was given about the location of my first house.

... far enough from in-laws that yet won't come to visit too often, yet close enough to them so they can drive home at the end of the day/visit...

simple math... the 38' has over 300 sq ft of space. The 33 has less.

I can entertain about 6 adults in my ride with couch and chair space to watch a movie or have a conversation. My buddy can entertain 11...

I dont envy his coach problems of a 4 slide 45'er!

17 years ago 36' was considered max for NP, SP, USFS, COE CGs so I bought a used 36'. Did not take long to learn that's BS so went to 40'. 14 years ago when able to use a MH 100+ days/year went to a 42' and in the summer we boondock out West 5 out of 7 days for three months without any problems and NO reservations...the internet has made it easy to do this. Never though I'd do this BUT last month I went to 45'...my point is buy more MH than you think you need, ONE TIME and not like me. Good luck

The floor plan is more important than length. If you don’t like the floor plan, it won’t matter how long the coach is...you won’t be happy.

Floor plan should be top of the list.

Thanks again everyone! My question was more concerning the access and maneuvaribility to things if we go from a 33 to a 38 footer. I’m happy to see that we can still likely go into national parks. Looking forward to the fun.

Wow! I'm curious to see your size rig in 10 more years! Haha!

The LAYOUT of the unit is what really matters! That is what will make you happy or not.

Wow, lots of really good comments here. I think the majority are saying take the 38 footer and I agree with that for all the reasons stated. I also agree with all the floor plan comments.

When coaches are traded it is usually for bigger or a better floor plan. Going bigger the first time can save you from that expensive trade in.

To answer the first question, every foot bigger will eliminate some campground somewhere, but many if not most state and national compgrounds can hold up to a 40 footer. If not, there is always another campground nearby that you can fit into. I went from a 40 to a 45 with no regrets. The extra space and storage is a luxury that is worth the small and infrequent inconvenience.

Wow, Where in the coach do you keep the litter box? How do you deal with the litter box smell? Just curious.

Its the same, your driving a brick on wheels.

I have owned 3 MH's now, with my current being 42ft, in my mind the closest to perfect size (if there really is such a thing) is 38ft.

Good luck!
