Does the wind effect the diesel pushers?
We have a Tiffin Allegro gas MH. Love it. Have taken it on many short trips. We are now on our biggest trip to date - Grand Canyon. The wind in the last couple of states (ok & nm) feel like they going to push us over. So we are wondering if the heavier diesel pushers are less effected by the winds?

No.. Diesel Pushers, unlike Gas Pullers, or even Tractor Trailers, are absolutely impervious to wind gust...

Very true unless you actually drive it outside of the garage 
Wait till you drive through eastern Colorado or all of Kansas! That is some serious wind!

Wind does have an effect on all high side vehicles.
DP's with Independent Front Suspension and higher overall weights will be less affected than lighter and solid axle coaches.

You'll find lots of threads on iRV2 about handling issues, "wandering", and such. Unfortunately, the laws of physics seem to apply to diesel pushers too....

Just returned from Montana and Wyoming where the wind stayed at 30 to 40 and it just about blew my 40 dsdp off the road,it might be heavier than a gas rig but it still is like a a kite when you get sideways to wind.

Wind affects DP's too, but usually not to the same amount as gas units.

Or western Montana in the spring! We had a 36 footer a few years back and gusts coming off the mountains were whipping us around like a butterfly in a wind tunnel. Didn't start until around 10 AM when the air got warmed up. We tried to take early breaks as soon as it started, but it is hard to nap in an I-90 rest area. Two VERY long days!

Ditto. I think the really big boys with tags might be a bit better yet but it's all relative. The wind is going to push on any sail that presents itself.

Having a tag axel helps quite a bit. But in 40 to 50 mph winds you just slow down and go with it.

Agree with previous saying affected, but not as bad. Gusts are the worst. With steady (desert/plains) winds, it seems like the coach sets itself up for them and settles down a little. The air bag ride height sensors will boost up the pressure on the downwind side a little, and back off on the upwind side - which levels it at least.

Motor in front-motor in back-gas-diesel wind doesn't care it has a effect. Weight probably has more to do with its effect than anything else. A 50,000# coach will not be effected as much as a 20,000# one.

Don't forget the awnings.....saw a few of those destroyed over the last few days in AR, OK, TX.......
It's usually lighter in the am so we drive early if we can, didn't apply yesterday though

A few years ago (2007 I think) I was headed to Palmdale, CA (Moose lodge) for a week and coming from Las Vegas the wind got a bit.. Well,, Harry.
I was chatting with a ham who was also making a trip to the same area (But a campground) He was running a bit behind me (Couple hours).
Well, I got to the Moose, hooked up and plugged in. He decided to park it at a Flying-J.
Called ahead to the campground to say he'd be there a day late due to the wind.
They told him "That's ok, You can't get in the park now anyway". He ask why.
They told him a Big Class A Diesel was leaving when a guest of wind hit it and it rolled over to take a nap. Leaving the park, I doubt the speedometer hit double digits before the side of the coach hit the ground.
