Not on the backup light, right next to it. I would paint a piece of lumber. Epoxy it to the back of the fiberglass. Run screws through the rear cap and into the wood.

1stmh-

Per the parts manual for your coach (link here, page 103 of the PDF), the part number for the Workhorse-chassis lower ladder is 161990-05-01A. The Freightliner-chassis lower ladder uses a different part number (161990-01-01A). You may have a Freightliner-chassis lower ladder.

As you pick through the Winnebago documentation you will run into the Workhorse/Freightliner differences frequently, I suspect. I have to do the same on the gas chassis coaches, Ford/Workhorse.

It would bolt to the fiberglass cap.
That is it. Paint to match and it would barely show. You only need one step at about the back up light level. It might be a slight stretch but it will be doable. Remember the old advice "stay off the roof" It was not meant to be a lounging area. Only a service area. Access does not have to be perfect. You will not be going up there that often.

So how does it feel to be a rung short of a full ladder?

Ohhh trust me I know. Did I ever tell you about my fun with brakes? I got out one time this year. Im not even bringing up fun with levelers that won't retract. I keep telling myself that once its fixed its fixed for a while. Gotta keep my eye on the carrot.
