We were faced with the same problem with our 1350 4 door Dometic when the cooling unit went out. We were told that removing the slide was the way to go if you have one. The options to replace were slim and involved modifications. Either a residential fridge or a Norcold which might not be better. Modifications would still be required. We found that it would be possible to replace the cooling unit with a 12v compressor which would be low draw or replace the cooling unit with the Amish replacement. Both require the fridge removal but the work is done in the coach. The choice depended on how much boon-docking we would do and we do a lot so we chose the replacement Amish evaporative unit. We did it ourselves. It would have been worth it to have it done though. Just offering it as a simpler option. We are pleased.
