Question Dometic Sealand toilet flapper seal question

I've got a 2007 Damon Astoria Pacific Edition with a Dometic Sealand toilet. The model number sticker that's supposed to be on the front of the base is gone. I have had it apart and the flapper seal is the large 7" outside diameter two piece one. Thicker piece is approximately 3.750 ID and thinner piece is 3" ID. I noticed when looking for replacement parts some have a small hole on the perimeter of both pieces at 10 o'clock from the locating u-shaped groove. I don't have the small hole. Both types seem readily available. Just out of curiosity what is the small hole for.
I'm asking because I've seen where companies make revisions and but still sell the old parts until inventory is gone. Thanks in advance for indulging my curiosity.

Some toilets have a small post which the holes fit over to insure the seals are right side up.
