Dometic Toilet Ball Valve Sticking

Hello!

Our Dometic Toilet in our 2005 HR Admiral seems to be sticking.

The ball valve won't close on its own, we have to push it closed manually.

We've replaced the bowl seal and made sure there is nothing blocking the ball from returning, but it's still not working correctly.

Is there any serviceable parts in the toilet? springs or anything that we can replace to get the ball valve to seat correctly?

It's a Dometic 310.

It will only get worse. Ball valve no parts. Grease the ball valve to increase longevity frequently.

We just went through the same exercise - ours was a Dometic SeaLand 111 toilet and we heard something "ratchet" in the flush mechanism, then it seemed to lose about half of its tension so it wouldn't close completely unless we allowed it to really "slam" shut. Doing some online shopping we found a place that sold replacement parts and decided that since the toilet was about 15 years old we might want to replace the entire flushing mechanism instead of just the spring (or whatever was broken). The entire mechanism was priced at around $280 if I recall, and a complete new toilet (Dometic 320) was about the same price. So, we ended up putting in a brand new toilet!

Hmm... That's what I was afraid of.

Is there a replacement toilet that everyone recommends?

Or just get whatever and know you'll be replacing it in a few years?

The Dometic 320 seemed to be highly thought of in the reviews I saw. But make sure it fits in your application: it's an oval bowl, and it's tall so if yours is sitting on a pedestal it might be too tall for you. Also, it is installed with 2 closet bolts instead of the original 4 closet bolts on the old toilet, so I had to buy an adapter for that.
