Door won't open

2008 Fleetwood Providence. Both locks unlock, but I can't get the door open from the outside. I have seen some less than desirable options (drilling/cutting) to gain access in other forums. Does anyone have a suggestion for gaining access?

You might try releveling the coach, the chassis may be twisted putting the latches in a bind.

Might be hard to do if he can't get in.

I've read on here that there is a certain lock model(s) that fails at times. Something breaks inside and the latch won't retract. I've started leaving one window unlatched for that just in case it happens to us situation.

I would not want to drill into anything either. Might could work at getting a window open somehow. I guess it might be possible to pull a rooftop vent and slide a really skinny person down through it,, maybe not.

If it comes down to having to drill into the lock, do some research to see about finding where to drill into it, what size bit to use, and what's best to stick into the hole to retract the latch.

Don't drill or damage the door

Don't drill or damage the door. This happened to me, and it was very easy to try to get inside. I got in through the large window, even though it was locked. But from the outside, where the lock was, I inserted a screwdriver and made a small gap until I opened the window and got in. Then I started moving the latch and opening the door at the same time until the door was unlocked.

Then the repair phase begins. Open the door trim and you will find some of the catches on the latch rod loose and need calibration. The problem is very silly and its solution is simple.

NOTE : Do not press too hard on the window so that it does not break. Be careful.
