DP Fuel Mileage
Just wondering what everyone with similar DP's are getting for fuel mileage just got back from our first trip got 7.5 mpg towing our boat which is about 6000lbs and generator running, we were definitely pulling some hills on this trip as well. We have a Cummins 350 with banks turbo.

Thats about right. With few hills towing a 4000 lb toad and genny running I get about 8-8.5 mpg. No Genny 8.5-9. I usually run 65-68 MPH.

I can't tell from the picture exactly what you have, nor did I see the info in your profile, so it's hard to do a good comparison, but I had two 40' Winnebago Journey diesels..one with a 330 Cat and one with a 350 Cat and ran in the mid 7's mpg towing. My current 43' Mountain Aire with the 450 Cummins ISL 9 is in the mid 7's towing a 6000 lb pickup.
I don't kill it on the highway, though. I usually run 62 to 65 mph on interstates. Speed is the enemy of fuel economy.

Skip.... I have the same issue re signature. Mine is turned on at the forum website, but does not show on my iPhone.
On the mileage, you’re right in the bracket. My 40 ft ‘02 DS (3126 CAT) is virtually always towing my 3500 Lb toad when moving, and I always cruise at 1750 RPM, which yields about 63-66 mpg. Eight year average (50K miles) is 7.6 mpg.

I seem to average out right around 7. There are days it is worse and days it is better.

We just did or first trip from Vegas to Wyoming and back, 1900 miles pulling a ram 1500 cc with our 2004 40’ coachmen sports coach elite with a Cat 3126. We got 7.52 average on the trip, which according to replies I am in line with others. We travel at 65-70 most of the time.

ISX 650 (910 ci), Allison 4000 MH in a CC Magna. Weight of 52,000#'s now towing a Jeep Wrangler. 7.7 mpg overall for 64,000 miles. Discounting aquahot and generator usage. Avg speed of 60-65 mph. Since the rebuild last your it's happier at 65 than 60.

I get about 9.5mpg with my toad. Without the toad and if I keep a light foot, I can get over 10. Cummins B6.7. MH is probably about 30k lbs and toad is around 5500lbs. I usually cruise at 65-70mph or the speed limit, whichever is lower.
Every time I get passed by somebody with an ISL or ISX, I flip to my fuel economy gauge to make myself feel better.

When I picked up our 'new' '04 Country Coach Inspire 40' DP (w/Cummins 350ISC), I averaged 9.6mpg towing a 1999 Blazer 4door. Average speed 65mph.
