Dream Dinette difficult to raise back to table

We are new owners of a 2016 Tiffin Open Road that has a Dream Dinette (I believe that is what it is called). It is meant to easily drop down to create sleeping area (and it does) but then raise back up just as easily. The tabletop is Corian so it is extremely heavy and the only way to raise it back up is to have two people climb onto the seat while a third person lifts it a bit from the exposed end so the other two can wedge their fingers underneath it and raise it from the mid and back section. This isn't a dream, it's a nighmare! Have crawled underneath and can't see any adjustments that can be made. Has anyone else had the same issue and successfully found a solution? If so, please share or I may start asking the grandkids to simply sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag! LOL

Have you tried any spray lube on the moving parts? The slide and the pivots?

It is possible that the gas spring has gone bad. The spring is fully extended in the up position. It should take some effort to push down to the bed position, if it does not the spring is bad.

I agree with Steve, if it goes down EASILY, like with little or no effort on your part, then you need to replace the gas strut underneath. That should be working against you when you lower the table and working with you when you raise it.
There will be information about the strut itself stamped on it somewhere, use that information to find a comparable replacement.

Thank you!

Thank you for the quick response! We are going to try replacing the gas strut because that makes perfect sense. I really appreciate the help.
