Berkey Filter

We have a Big Berkey at our Idaho summer cottage which works very well for us. The Mrs. wants one for the MH but I have resisted for two reasons...
Lack of counter space/ storage space for travel.
Berkeys like to be used. If not fulltiming and left unused for a week or more the filters tend to dry out and need repriming which is a pain. So not the best for weekenders.
So for now we reluctantly use/reuse jug water in the MH for drinking and a Camco on the hose for the tank.
** Maybe we just need to buy another Berkey and travel way more!**
Regards, Mike

By demand I put a inline filter at the spigot, one at end of hose connected to tank fill and the RV cartridge filter from tank to cold water line. Three filters and she buys bottled water for drinking and coffee maker. And when I'm outside needing a drink I stop at public drinking fountains in rest areas, subways, city streets and bank foyer. Go figure how a womans mind works and controls.

I grew up on well water with no treatment. For the last 35+ years we have well water from a 750' well. I do not have a filter in the house. When away from home the taste of public water is awful. When traveling we use a filter system in the RV. I think a good share of the public water systems have a serious issue. When dining out drink wine.
