Drivers captain chair with power foot rest

We are about to replace both captains chairs and the DW wants me to order both with a power foot rest. She sits in the drivers chair a good bit when parked and uses a small ottoman to rest her feet on. Its always in the way as well just another item that needs to be stored away before we hit the road again. I have searched and searched and can't find any company that if I where to buy a set the drivers chair has this option. Is there a law in place or other reasons I shouldn't consider this?

The DW is dead set on it and as the old saying goes, if she ain't happy I'm miserable.

I guess there is no reason you couldn't install a new captains chair with the foot rest. We use our drivers side also to sit in but with the steering wheel as an obstacle it's not as convenient/comfortable to make it practical to use the footrest.

The mounting base should be the same so once you find a compatible brand you should be able to order what you want, here's a site that has some.

There are some new high end coaches that have this, so there is no law against it. My guess is they are more expensive seats with some logic in them to keep foot rest from deploying in the drive position.

Here's a stock photo from a Newmar King aire
