Your wife is right......very few RV’s have it, and it would not even be on my list of “nice to haves”.

Our Rexhall had the drivers door used it mainly to run the leveling jacks since they were on the floor of that model. Going in and out the door was a pain long drop when we got rid of that coach I never missed the door.

I don't have one on my Class A and there are times I wish I had one... but it's not a deal breaker...

If I could afford one, I'd buy a Newmar Super Star or Supreme Aire.... they have both driver & passenger front doors, with some great interiors and floor plans...

Oh yeah, they are Super "C" motorhomes..... but really nice Super C motorhomes...

I think the drivers door is useless. I’ve seen people with them and they still use the main door or entry and egress. Your wife is correct, you will be eliminating too many great MHs to have this door.

I have been locked both out and in twice in 6 years. Even as an old guy I’ve gone through a window. But that being said adeivses side door would be so far down my want list as to be irrelevant. Looking at an Adventurer?

If Momma ain't happy NOBODY is happy.

You best change your wish for a driver's door or you'll never hear the end of it. Believe I know.

I have a drivers door and use it all the time. That said, you will be hard pressed to find one on a 2017 or later Class A gasser.
I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker. Maybe you will find one and most likely not.

Driver side door.

I would much prefer a driver's door. However it was not available on coaches in my price range, so I don't have one. I would use it frequently when fueling, if I had it.

I think that requirement will severely limit your market! JMHO

The only reason I can think of that it would be handy is in case of a fire or as previously mentioned. Save your money and buy a big fire extinguisher and put it behind the driver's or passenger's seat in case you need to fight your way to the exit.

Honestly, that was my reason for having a driver's door on my current RV. I used it for that for a while and got tired of the maneuvering required to get up out of my seat and then down the footholds. In the last 3+ years, I haven't used it at all. It's so much easier to just come down the main steps and walk around. No, you don't need a driver's side door.

I have one and use it at every gas stop on our 2000 DSDP mostly so I don't have to inconvenience DW with retracting the stair cover. I also use it to reach in and pop the hood when I'm working on it around the house. I wouldn't miss it much though if I didn't have it. In fact, I wasn't looking for it when I first saw the coach. Didn't even know it was an option. I certainly wouldn't pass on an otherwise good coach that doesn't have one. Your DW is right, IMHO.

There is a reason they were discontinued.....no demand for them. Also, a liability now days to manufacturers. That first step getting in and getting out was always dangerous, especially to the older crowd that typically use them.

I worked on one once, for someone, the only value was the ease of accessing the wiring under the dash. However, that may only be once or twice during ownership.

Have had drivers door for 14 years, never use it. It is a real strain to climb thru, If you have to work under dash on drivers side, makes it easier.
