I don;t mind the hitch higtting but it eats up the Protect a Tow. Emailed PAT and he suggested cutting the PAT from around the hitch. We will try that first.

Years ago skid wheels/casters were put on trailers on a regular basis to protect their rears.

We will keep researching if cutting away the PAT does not work.

I think if you go to sell the rv, you might want to remove the wheel. The prospective buyer is going to think you are abusing the rv. As far as them hitting, I understand. If you have ever been to Sams Town Rv park in Vegas, you would completely understand. The entire road in front of the park entrance is nothing but skid marks. My friend had a custom tire carrier mounted on the front of his rv. We bottomed out going into Sams Town.

I’ve been using a steel wheel welded to my tow bar for over 5 years and it has worked perfectly.... it simply “rolls” tow bar and rear of coach over low spots......
