Is this normal?
Also as a rookie not sure but when dry camping to conserve battery should I leave the water pump and heater on or turn on as needed? Thanks!

The RPM of my 6.3 Onan drops whenever a load is applied and then speeds back up and runs smoothly.
I leave the water pump on anytime I'm in the coach, (it draws no current unless I draw water).
If by heater you mean
LP water heater I leave mine on when I'm using the coach, except when traveling.
If you mean
furnace use it only when needed.
BTW, my refrigerator is set to LP and running 24/7 from the day before we leave home until the day we return, sometimes for months on end, (except when fueling the coach or the LP tank).
