Dutch Star Dash lights

Help Please. We are in a 2002 Dutch star Diesel pusher. The fuel gage reads 3/4 full, just refueled 40 miles ago. We are getting a red light on the dash that looks like a fuel pump??? Is this serious ? Books do not show dash warning lights or explanation. Can we still drive ???

I wonder if it's a fuel filter? You might have water in filter or possibly it's clogged.

Are you getting any reduced power issues ?

We had an '02 DSDP for 13 years and I don't remember what that light is for as I never saw it illuminated.

Is the light in the fuel gauge? Have you seen the quantity misrepresented like that before?
I would go to the outside cargo door that is the most forward on the pax side. Inside that cargo bin against the back wall as you look into it, there should be a screw on cap like the one in your sewer/water compartment. Open that round compartment and just inside it should be the fuel tank and hopefully the fuel sending unit. If you locate it there, check the tightness of the bolts/screws. Also, check the integrity of the two pin connector for the wires that are coming from the fuel sending unit.
It could be that the fuel sending unit has gotten loose and is interrupting the signal. If there is a stain on the tank where the fuel sending unit is mounted, that is a good sign that you may have located your problem area.

Welcome to iRV2.

Sorry you're here with problems .

It's important to include info on your chassis and engine when asking questions , because your Dutch Star could be on Spartan or Freightliner chassis with either a Cummins or Caterpillar engine .
There can be differences in the warning systems between the chassis manufacturers and different meanings between the engines used .
Like Mr_D , I can't recall any warning light that looks like a fuel pump.
Please consider setting up a, signature line , that will automatically add the info to your posts , as mine does below this one .
If possible could you post a picture showing the light on the dash.

Well I just had to go to my coach and check , and sure enough , there is a low fuel warning ; amber light in the light bar ( and it looks like a station's fuel pump) The only time I've ever seen that light lit up is during the dash bulb check sequence , before starting , and in that two seconds , I never focused on the symbol . Guess I've never been low enough on fuel to activate it.

Any way , if you, you've fueled up and the fuel gauge reads 3/4 and the light is on , I'd suspect either a problem with the fuel tank sending unit , or if your coach is on a Freightliner chassis , a problem with the VDC ( Vehicle Data Center ) that sends all the info to the dash gauges and the warning light bar.

It's annoying but you're safe to drive.
